Since I’ve got to work this evening, I decided that I’d start my work day at noon today. So I went out for a bike ride on the local trail. It is an old railroad trail that was converted in the rails to trails program and runs between Baltimore and Annapolis. The thing I love about the trail is that its relatively flat, paved, and shady. What I dislike about the trail is that it gets a lot of use and there are plenty of traffic jams on the trail, which sucks when you are biking. Fortunately, I went out at about 10 o’clock, and the trail was relatively empty.
I rode about 3 miles down towards Annapolis, where I customarily turn around and head back north. Road about 4 miles north to East West Avenue where I again turned around and headed home. All in all it was about 10 or 11 miles. Really need to get a computer for the bike. I was riding my mountain bike fitted with semi-slick tires. Its a good ride, but it is heavy for the kind of riding I was doing today.
I think the ride cured me of my desire for a fixy though. I’m not nearly in the shape that I’d need to be for a fixy and I had enough problems stopping in my clipless peddles today.
Frank will be proud.

I’ve not been on the BWI airport trail. Actually, I thought the B&A trail hooked up with the BWI airport trail somewhere. I’m just getting back in the saddle again, so I’ll have to check it out.
