Me and Mr. Grey having a good time a few weeks ago at Quiet Waters Park.

I’ve been needing to take a vacation all summer. Badly. We had planned to go in early August, but those plans never got finalized. I put the stake in the ground for the first two weeks of September. Today, I verbally confirmed a place in Lewes, DE. I’m excited. Almost two full weeks in Lewes. We’ll be rolling up to CT at the end of the second week for TKD’s cousin’s wedding. Should be fun.
Things I plan to do on vacation:
TKD dropped by work with Mr. Grey today. That was truly cool. Mr. Grey liked the building. TKD told me to stop complaining about DCTC. I used to work in our World Headquaters, which is one of the most fabulous buidings in the world, and I’ve been complaining since I’ve been transfered down the street to DCTC…but its still a great environment to work in.
At any rate, TKD stopped in with Mr. Grey and I got to show him off to the crew. I think the guys enjoyed the break in the daily routine. One coworker in particular, Ellenor, really had a great time meeting Mr. Grey. It was really cool to see how excited she was about meeting the little man.
I’m really happy that TKD stopped by with the boy today.
We’ve had an awesome stretch of weather. I cannot believe it is August in Maryland. I haven’t had the AC on in the house since last thursday. Its only been in the mid 80s and the humidity has been really low, very comfortable in the 40-50% range. Last night it got down to 61F.
I know we’re going to pay for this, it will probably be 105F with 99% humidity in September, but for now, I’m really enjoying the good weather.
This past weekend rocked. Saturday included a trip to the farmer’s market for some tomatos and some scones – I also came away with some great wax beans – breakfast on the deck on our new table an chairs (yes Home Depot did finally come thorugh) and spending nearly all day Saturday with Mr. Grey, just hanging out in the back yard. He was playing and generally acting like an 8 month old on the blanket with us, which was very entertaining. The weather was unbelievable.
Sunday, we went to the other farmer’s market in Annapolis and got some more good veggies as well as some excellent bread. Mom and Jen came down with the girls. Frank was sick. We had a nice time without him, but I wish he’d been there. I made some phat sandwiches that were grilled on the grill (who needs a panini press?). They had turkey, bacon, sprouts, spinach, provolone, and mayo on them. I grilled them on the grill for about 5 minutes and got some nice char marks on them as well as melted the cheese. They rocked. We ate them with some gaspacho that we made with the veggies that we got at the farmer’s market.
I spent the whole weekend with no watch on. This is very liberating and I suggest you try it.
I also left the windows and sun roof open on the car all weekend, luckilly it was in the carport.
